****I posted this review in a few places...so no one would miss it, as many of you asked me to report once I got home*** Ok all....As promised...Here is my review of the Final Chicks Show on Sat. Oct. 27, 2007 in Los Angeles.  I just got back to Ohio from L.A. a few hours ago and now have full computer access.  So Here goes : First and foremost, the Chicks of course did not disappoint.  Their performance was phenomenal !  I want to also say Mary I am sorry that I did not see your comment until it was too late about meeting up.  The complimentary computer at the hotel wouldn't download the flash plugin on the site, so I couldn't get into the blogger except for once, when I stopped on at a Fedex / Kinkos.  A HUGE Thank you to Pam in NYC for the camera tips.  I used the "feminine products" idea and got my camera past security.  I was able to get 2 photos and 3 small video clips during the show.  :o)  I got caught once, but they were nice about it.

The Eagles crowd was a Geriatric Convention.  The Eagles Fans...were quite rude and seemed very pompass and pretentious.  They made the experience, somewhat uncomfortable.  It was as if they thought the just ruled because they had Tickets to see the Eagles...and many were making comments, cracking on the Dixie Chicks before they even started.  One Guy across the Aisle from me slept the entire time during the Chicks Show.  Others around me who were making fun of myself and Sara for Cheering on the Chicks...found themselves 2 songs later, saying..."Wow..these Girls are Good".   The Dixie Chicks are good...anytime anywhere...whether it be on CD, DVD...Live etc.  They can play anything...anywhere....and it shows.  They have such ecclectic talent, and they are all three so beautiful as well.  They looked and sounded incredible. I enjoyed their rendition of "Mary" and I hope that they record it.  I know someone mentioned earlier...and I agree, that it seemed as though because of the Eagles, The DCX were rushed.  They played for about an hour.   The did end up doing "Sin Wagon" which was a nice surprise..as I don't think it was on the set list of their eralier shows. The crowd...as others mentioned...was small at first...and just a few of us giving the Chicks Love.  By Shut up and sing...everyone was on their feet, and some were even bowing down to the DCX as if to say "We're not worthy". :o)

Many of the Eagles Fans made me nervous...once again uncomfortable...complaining about us standing when we did...and sceaming applause for the Chicks. Needless to say..we stuck around just to hear how the Eagles sounded (which was quite good..better than I expected) and we bolted a few songs later. I did not like how ..as others mentioned also...that it was apparent the Chicks were being treated as an Opening Act, and not as if the concert was a shared Bill as I had thought.  **Now, For the Final thing that did me in...and had me so through with the Eagles Fans...was during the Chicks Final Song...These Fans come sauntering in...as if no one is even performing...and they had the same seats as someone else in our row.  We got jacked out of our seats and were standing in the Aisle, while they fought with other Fans over their seats.  I tried not to let it ruin the Finale of DCX and Sara and I just danced and cheered in the Aisle, but it was still yet another rude distraction, that could have waited 3 mins until the Chicks were done...and the Fans could have come in between sets.

All in all...Natalie, Martie, and Emily, were just plain incredible.  I enjoyed every minute of their performance, and the Trip to L.A. with both Sara and I having bad colds, and also all the Wildfires out in So Cal...and all We went through to get there...all the way from our "lovely" state (Ohio) ....(being sarcastic). I guess you could almost literally say...We'd come through "Fire and Ice" and do really just about anything to See the Chicks. :o)

P.S.  Many comments were made to the two of us while we were in L.A. about...Oh...You're from Ohio...and you actually like the DCX ?  I thought Ohio was such a conservative state....blah blah ?  The answer to that question, is yes Ohio may be one of those conservative/swing states, but NOT Sara and Me. We go against the grain.  We love the Chicks for everything they are...musically...personalities, and yes we agree with them politically as well.

Thank you DCX for making our trip worth it ! I can hardly wait though for a SOLO TOUR minus The Eagles Fans though.

Thanks Mary. That worked for me. Those are nice photos, and I think the Easy button is from Staples. It says

'That was Easy' when you press it. Kind of like a stress sqeezy ball.

    Great shots Junichi!

But I'd like to know what that big red "EASY" button means on Fern's console! I can speculate, but I'm sure I'd be wrong. :-)

Those of you sitting in the cheap seats can clap, and those of you in the rich seats can just rattle your bling.

Ha ha. The crowd is rude for not showing up on time.

They ought to make the Eagles start first for 3 of the 6 shows.

I've been told to write something.  I'll write a few somethings.

First of all, tonight instead of Natalie's guitar getting caught in her hair it got caught in her eyelashes.  Oh, zing.  Tough love!  I'm just playing.

Second, I found the band a little overpowering and I missed hearing more of just the three ladies.  (For this reason "White Trash Wedding" was my favorite performance of the night.)  I think it was during "Landslide" that the bass was so thumping I could barely take it.  I missed hearing "Travelin' Soldier" because on the last tour that song featured just the three of them.  Anyway, I enjoyed myself thoroughly, and the ladies all looked and sounded amazing.  As always, they were consummate professionals.  (And I think Natalie has BF2F to thank for that contact high...)

Third, why didn't Glenn Frey get to sing any of his own songs but Don Henley did?  Does anyone else think Frey looks Chris Issak meets Ben Stiller?

Way to go Dixies!  Great show.

    Hello everyone!

First of all, here's the set list for tonight's show:

    1.  Lubbock or Leave It
    2.  Truth No. 2
    3.  Landslide
    4.  Goodbye Earl
    5.  Cowboy Take Me Away
    6.  Mary
    7.  Long Time Gone
    8.  White Trash Wedding
    9. Wide Open Spaces
    10. Not Ready to Make Nice
    11. Easy Silence
    12. The Long Way Around

I literally got goosebumps on my arms during "Not Ready To Make Nice"...chills went through me.  The crowd was extremely Chick friendly, and they received quite a rousing ovation during the cresecendo leading up to the line "...shut up and sing or my life will be over."  People began standing and cheering, slowly at first, but then as Natalie crescendoed, so did the crowd.  The climax occurred with Natalie's arms raised over her head with over 7000 people on their feet, cheering and clapping.  Whew. Definitely my favorite moment.

A guy behind us, who was an Eagles fan, seemed to be really moved by their performance.  He said that he knew "a few of their songs" but described them as really talented.  He also said "the violin player is beautiful".  He then said that if the show tonight featured only the Chicks, then it would still have been worth it.  So I think they won over at least one more fan tonight.

I'm sure I'll think of more later, but I'm really tired right now.  My body is still on East Coast time, and I'm exhausted.  Besides, NYC and BF2F are bitchin' at me to hurry up and finish.  :)

    greetings from LALA land
Pam, NYC, Deb and I are here and we just got back from the "shows" My, oh my. I'll give you the running commentary then hand it off to Pam and NYC....
    So, LA, land of traffic and traffic and more traffic. Arriving at the show a good hour early out little eyes were on teh lookout for our favortie blogger but lo and behold, he was no where to be seen. Do you know how difficult it is to try and spot someone when tehy aren't wearing a loud blue suit. As we sat waiting for the show to begin, (the time is now 8:20, show was supposed to start at 8:15 , people were still filing in) a man behind us was complaining about how rude the Chicks were by not starting. At approximately 8:30 the show began. Oh, what were they wearing you ask? Emily, black tank, black leggings,3 inch killer boots;
Natalie, shiny black jacket(sorry, but it was't like we were that close) black leggings, 4 inch heels; Martie, black & silver tank type top, black leggings, 3 inch heels. And they changed the order of the set list but Pam will get into that. Accompanied by guys on keybaord, guitar, slide guitar, the production was very scaled back from when they were on tour. How was it? Great. best song? hmmm tough, Em and Martie showed their stuff during several songs, especially White Trash wedding. Best moment? Several, Natalie was hilarious. She told the people in the pit that "you look rich ans something about the cost of the tickets, then said she wasn't knocking rich people..yeah, well you had to be there, but it was FUNNY. Trust me. They looked happy and looked like they were having a great time. When it was over the complaining guy said, boy, those girls were great. The woman next to me was thrilled , having never been to a DCX concert before. She said she was going to go and get their albums. We are looking forward to finding our favorite Manass tomorrow night( well, we're here, it would be just stupid not to go to both shows, right) They did receive several staning ovations and undoubtably gained a lot more fans.
